IRS Enrolled Agent- The Peterson Companies

Carolyn is an IRS Enrolled Agent. She is passionate about helping her clients minimize tax liability and reduce stress when dealing with the IRS.

Carolyn’s career began with an internship in Cambridge, OH over 40 years ago. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Franklin University. She successfully passed the IRS exam in 1985 to become an Enrolled Agent, a federally licensed tax agent who can represent clients before the IRS.

In 1990 Carolyn married Alan Peterson and joined the firm Peterson & Peterson where she worked alongside her husband, mother, and mother-in-law. For years the company held tax seminars for professionals. As Peterson & Peterson continued to grow, it branched out and founded the ACS Title Company. Later an investment business was introduced, and the firm changed its name to The Peterson Companies.

In June 2019, Carolyn relocated The Peterson Companies to the Patriot Asset Advisors office in Pataskala, OH. The synergy of two practices under one roof has had tremendous benefits for clients.

Carolyn’s ambition and dedication to her field doesn’t stop there. She’s an active member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and a founding member and former treasurer of the Ohio State Society of Enrolled Agents. She’s also the Past President of the Greater Columbus Chapter of OSSEA.

In her personal life, Carolyn is an active member and the treasurer of her church, where she enjoys participating in outreach events. She’s a mother of three, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of four. Aside from spoiling her grandkids, her pastimes include reading and learning, traveling (especially relaxing in Gatlinburg, TN), shopping, and tending to her flowers.
